The Tale of Ali the Liar

A lesson on Honestly and Trust

Once upon a time, there was a man named Ali who discovered the harsh consequences of lying.

Ali and the Consequences of Lying

Once upon a time, there lived a man named Ali, who cared for the village goats. He was paid every month to take the goats to the nearby pasture, ensuring their safety and well-being.

One day, Ali felt the urge to visit the city and enjoy a hearty lunch. To make this possible, he devised a plan. He returned the goats to the village earlier than usual and suddenly yelled, _"There is a hyena! Help! Help! Come quickly!"_

Hearing his cries, the villagers rushed to his aid, armed with weapons to protect Ali and the goats. But when they arrived, there was no hyena in sight—only Ali, smiling awkwardly. He confessed, _"I was afraid of being alone, and I wanted someone to keep me company."_

The villagers were shocked and disappointed. Feeling betrayed, they began calling him _"Ali the Liar."_ From that day forward, no one believed anything Ali said.

Sometime later, as Ali was tending the goats, a real hyena appeared. Terrified, he screamed for help: _"There’s a hyena! Please come!"_ But this time, no one came. The hyena attacked, devouring some of the goats—and tragically, Ali too.

Moral of the Story

Lying destroys trust:* Once broken, it is nearly impossible to regain.
"A single lie kills trust.
Even if you later tell the truth, _no one will believe you._
